Become a Washer Hero
Earn money doing laundry in Toronto
Wash and fold laundry at home, and pick up and deliver orders nearby. Choose your hours, receive weekly payouts and keep 100% of tips.
Work as an independent contractor with your own washer, dryer and reliable transportation.
Apply in about 10 minutes. We review your address within 1 business day, then walk you through your police clearance and training — most Heroes are taking orders within 3 to 5 days.

How much can you earn?
You are paid per order, and you keep 100% of every tip. Our most active Heroes have earned over $5,000 in a month — that is not typical, and it takes a full schedule with larger loads. Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on the orders you accept and complete, order size, and your area.
Your pay never falls below minimum wage. If a week's engaged-time pay lands under the Ontario minimum, Duffloo tops up the difference.
What you need to get started
Most of it you already have at home. Here it is in four groups.

That is not typical, and it takes a full schedule with larger loads. What you earn depends on the orders you accept and complete, their size, and your area, and earnings are not guaranteed.

Every week. The pay week runs Saturday to Friday, and your pay is sent to your bank account the following Tuesday. Once you have been with Duffloo for more than two months and completed at least 20 orders in good standing, you can also request same-day payouts (processing fees may apply).
Applying takes about 10 minutes. We review your address within 1 business day, then walk you through your police clearance and training (7 short modules, about an hour in total). Most Heroes are taking orders within 3 to 5 days.
Your own washer and dryer, reliable transportation, and a few supplies: a basic scale, detergent of your choice, drying racks or a clothesline, clear bags (roughly 75 L, no drawstrings) and labels. You also need a smoke-free laundry area and a pet-free space for folding and packing. You must be 18 or older, allowed to work in Canada, and live in our service area. The full list is under What you need to get started.
Yes. You need a satisfactory criminal record check before activation, and you arrange and pay for it (Washer Agreement s.2.2). Most Heroes use our screening partner Certn: CA$34.98, paid directly to Certn, with results in days. You can use your local police service instead (Toronto Police Service charges about $26.72 and takes 5 to 10 business days).
We will tell you when to start it: right after we confirm your address is in our service area, so you never pay for a check before we know we can work with you.
Yes, before activation. Registration with the CRA is free, takes about 20 minutes, and we walk you through it during onboarding. The GST/HST on your orders is collected from the customer for you, and reporting and sending it to the CRA is your responsibility.
Yes. You set your own hours and your own service radius, and you accept only the orders you want. There is no minimum number of orders.
No. Washer Heroes are independent contractors: you run your own business, set your own hours and handle your own taxes. Duffloo does not withhold tax from your pay. Each January, we send you a statement of what you earned through Duffloo in the previous year.
Customers rate every order, and you can see your ratings in the app. If something goes wrong, Duffloo support works it through with you and the customer. If a refund is owed because of how an order was handled, part of it can be recovered from your future payouts, but only after we tell you why and you have had a chance to respond. Recovery is capped per order, never more than 25% of any one payout, and never takes your pay below minimum wage. Your tips are never touched.
